Why isn't modafinil commonly used for ADHD? or weight loss?

Interesting, thanks.

I was thinking of adult ADHD patients with substance abuse concerns.

Serious dermatologic and psychiatric reactions (eg, Stevens Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms, anxiety, mania, hallucinations, suicidal ideation).

It's likely to be used more frequently for add than narcolepsy.

Therefore risk increases.
