What do I do if I think I have a wound infection?

What do I do if I think I have a wound infection, but can’t talk to a doctor?
I think I have a wound infection cause my wound smells like old rotting flesh and hurts.

What's holding you back from going to the ER?

It's best to treat it early than when it's too late to be treated.

I can’t get any medical help right now but I don't know what to do with my infected cut.

How do I take care of it without the help of professionals?

Talking mostly out my ass, but as far as I'm aware cant the infection be traveling in your blood and even if you fix that spot the infection is still in you.

I think if it's infected, with inflammation and pus coming out. You will need to see a professional.

If you just cut yourself and want to prevent an infection, there are things like alcohol or iodine tinctures.

Hmmm the reason why I think it’s infected is cause it smells like rotting flesh, hurts more than it should and there appears to be white dots in the wound.

If you can't see a doctor right now, you can clear the wound, maybe use some antiseptic and Dexpanthenol cream.

How deep is the cut? Scratch or deeper?

You can also watch out for other signs of inflammation.

There are 5 in total, calor, rubor, tumor, dolor and the last one I can remember right now.

Calor means heat, i.e. the wound is getting hot.

Rubor is redness, tumor means swelling, dolor pain.
