I was prescribed Mirtazapine to curb depression but I've often heard that this drug has some serious side effects. How true is this?

Mirtazapine is just like every other normal antidepressant. It's effects seem to come in a little slower though..

All antidepressants usually have a few common side effects such as dizziness, loos of appetite, diarrhoea or constipation. Most of these common effects leave the body within two weeks but some could go as far as two weeks.

That means Mirtazapine is very safe to take for treating depression?
I think this varies based on the level of depression. I believe it could have more severe side effects when used for mild depressive cases. I learnt that in my Pharmacology class though.
