Does weight loss reverse diabetes after up to 10 years of having it?

Good question. Weight loss and physical activity can definitely make insulin and oral antidiabetics unnecessary in people with type 2 diabetes. The only problem could be that the beta-cells in the pancreas are already too damaged from exhaustion (=producing more and more insulin).

Is the patient taking insulin?

No the person is taking only metformin...with FBS levels varying from 108-140

Is it good enough control?

Mostly within 108-130ng/dl.

(FBS level =fasting blood sugar level).

No I think I cannot calculate HBA1c from that.

But around 100 mg/dl is not bad for fasting. That's the normal level for blood sugar in healthy individuals.

And because the patient doesnt need insuline, it should be easier to revert back to "prediabetic" state.
Sometimes half and hour of walking per day does the trick.
