Allergies

I realized that I was allergic when I was in high school. At the end of the 9th grade, symptoms worsened. There was no temperature, my throat did not hurt, but it was difficult to breathe: constant runny nose and cough. I was sent to an allergist. In addition to allergies, I also had asthma. Are there any people here having the same problem? Share how you deal with allergies? 😨🥴

Ohh, yes, I experience the same. During flowering, I can hardly breathe and can suffocate if I inhale too much pollen. Several times I woke in my clinic hooked to a drip. The last time it was two years ago - a neighbor found me in the stairwell and called an ambulance!!!

I'm allergic to flowering 🌸🌺
I have terrible fatigue as if at temperature, I feel overwhelmed, I do not have enough air, I feel dizzy - I can faint, that actually happened. I have plastic windows in the apartment and there is air conditioning, I do not sleep with the windows open during the flowering period.

It is very common actually 🙄 The main reason of allergies is heredity from your parents. If both of them are allergic, then the possibility of an allergy to flowering of their children is approximately 50%. Thats crazyyy🤯

Life hacks are important, and, of course, you need to wash everything in the apartment and vacuum everywhere. It helps others but does not always help me. I'm already getting so much pollen into the mucous membranes outside that the rest is like a drop in the ocean. The main thing that I do every year during the flowering period is buying tickets and going on vacation.

Where are you going on vacation then?

It's important to get to the right place. A year ago I flew to Hong Kong, and something bloomed there. I crashed in my bed in the room and thought I was a goner ☠ My friend ran to the pharmacy, brought me some medications, they helped. But in Greece, Italy, France, and the Czech Republic in May I was fine!

The most (and I think the only) effective way to get rid of allergies is Allergen-specific immunotherapy. ASIT consists of subcutaneous injections of minimal amounts of allergen according to a special scheme. Gradually increasing the dose of the extract, it is possible to reduce the susceptibility to flowering. In this way, the body is "trained" to normally perceive a substance that is harmful to it 🤓

True. In fact this is the most modern method of treatment. There are some advantages of ASIT treatment that experts named:

- long-term remission;
- prevention of the transition of allergies to more serious forms, in particular, the development of bronchial asthma;
- reducing the volume of necessary anti-allergic medications.

I know how you feel. If I stay during flowering in California, I buy a surgical mask, moisten it with water and leave the house only wearing it. At work, they treat me with understanding: if they see I feel terrible they send me home. The plan for May is to suffer through things and never go to the countryside ⛔

I can't recommend you any medical treatment but I can share some lifehacks with you. First of all wash your nose after going outside (to prevent pollen inside of your nostrils) 🙂
You can use ready-made formulations or prepare them yourself. To do this, you need to dissolve a little baking soda or sea salt in 200 ml of boiled water. Hope this helps !

If you sneeze and tear while cleaning your apartment during a flowering period or have severe itching, sore throat after drinking carrot juice consult a doctor. People often do not know what exactly they are allergic to.

It is better to start preparing for flowering in the fall. The doctor will help determine the causative allergen, select the correct diet, and if necessary, carry out the reorganization of foci of chronic infection of various nature - bacterial, viral, fungal. The specialist will prescribe medications that will help survive the period of active flowering of plants in different seasons.
